Pakistan has successfully conducted the flight test of its first indigenously developed Fa’az air-to-air missile, marking a major milestone in the country’s aerospace and defence capabilities, the military’s media wing said on Tuesday.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on November 3, the newly developed missile is equipped with a state-of-the-art terminal guidance system, enabling it to engage enemy aerial targets at longer ranges.

The successful test represents a significant advancement in Pakistan’s indigenous defence technology and is expected to enhance the operational flexibility of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF).

ISPR said the Fa’az missile would further strengthen Pakistan’s overall defence posture by improving the Air Force’s ability to engage aerial threats at extended ranges.

The military described the successful flight test as evidence of the technical maturity, innovation and self-reliance achieved by Pakistan’s defence industry.

Senior officers of the Pakistan Armed Forces witnessed the launch alongside distinguished scientists and engineers who played a pivotal role in developing the advanced weapon system.

President of Pakistan, Prime Minister, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces (COAS & CDF), and the Services Chiefs congratulated the scientists and engineers on the successful development and testing of the missile.

The achievement marks another step towards strengthening Pakistan’s indigenous aerospace capabilities and reducing reliance on foreign defence technologies.
