Pakistan has strongly condemned the continuing attacks on Saudi Arabia, describing them as a serious threat to regional peace and security, while reaffirming its commitment to supporting the Kingdom’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and stability under their joint defence agreement.

Addressing his weekly press briefing in Islamabad on Friday, Foreign Office spokesperson Sajjad Haider Khan expressed deep concern over repeated attacks targeting Saudi Arabia’s civilian population and critical infrastructure, declaring such acts unacceptable.

The spokesperson conveyed Pakistan’s condolences to the families of those killed in the attacks and expressed sympathy with the injured, reiterating Islamabad’s complete solidarity with the Kingdom during the ongoing security challenges.

He emphasised that Pakistan would continue supporting Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, security and stability, reaffirming Islamabad’s commitment to defence cooperation under the joint defence agreement between the two countries.

The statement comes amid repeated Houthi drone and missile attacks targeting Saudi Arabia, particularly King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, where recent strikes have caused significant civilian casualties and raised concerns over aviation safety and regional stability.

According to figures previously released by the Saudi-led coalition, attacks on Riyadh’s international airport between October 7 and 11 killed 17 people and injured 333 others.

The Foreign Office spokesperson also highlighted coordinated diplomatic efforts involving Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Türkiye, stating that the four countries had reaffirmed their solidarity with the Kingdom and expressed support for its defensive measures.

The four countries demanded an immediate and unconditional cessation of attacks against Saudi Arabia, underscoring their shared concern over threats to regional peace and security.

Pakistan’s position reflects its longstanding strategic and defence relationship with Saudi Arabia, with Islamabad repeatedly expressing support for the Kingdom’s security and territorial integrity.

Separately, the Foreign Office condemned Colombia’s decision to open an embassy in occupied Jerusalem, joining 18 other countries in opposing the move.

According to the Foreign Office statement, the 19 countries maintained that Colombia’s decision violated relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and undermined efforts towards achieving a two-state solution to the Palestinian question.

Pakistan reiterated its opposition to measures that could prejudice the internationally recognised framework for resolving the Palestinian issue.

The latest statements underline Islamabad’s diplomatic engagement on two major regional issues: the security of Saudi Arabia amid continuing Houthi attacks and the protection of international legal principles concerning occupied Jerusalem and the Palestinian question.
