The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) is enhancing its humanitarian activities across Africa and the Middle East, extending assistance from food, water and shelter to specialised medical treatment for communities affected by conflict, displacement and economic hardship.

The latest humanitarian operations span Sudan, Nigeria, Kenya, Yemen, Gaza and Syria, with Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian arm providing emergency assistance alongside specialised medical services.

In Sudan’s Blue Nile State, KSrelief distributed 560 shelter kits to displaced families under the 2026 Midad Initiative, benefiting 3,908 people.

The assistance comes as Sudan continues to face a severe humanitarian crisis, with displaced communities among those requiring urgent shelter, food and healthcare support.

KSrelief is also carrying out a volunteer medical project for endocrine surgery in Port Sudan in cooperation with Madinah’s Hayat Charity Association.

The project, running from September 26 to October 3, involves seven volunteers from various specialties. Since the campaign began, the medical team has performed 12 successful surgeries.

In Nigeria’s Kano State, KSrelief is conducting a volunteer medical project for urological surgery in cooperation with the Muslim World League from September 26 to October 3, 2026.

An eight-member volunteer team examined 20 patients and performed 11 successful surgeries. The team also provided medicines and medical supplies to patients and trained 16 healthcare workers.

Meanwhile, in Kenya, KSrelief launched a volunteer medical programme for pediatric open-heart surgery, running from September 30 to October 5.

The mission involves 12 medical, nursing and technical volunteers. Since the campaign began, the team has performed two successful open-heart surgeries.

KSrelief’s humanitarian operations are also continuing across the Middle East.

In Yemen, the centre distributed 500 food baskets in Al-Madina and Al-Wadi districts of Marib Governorate, benefiting 3,500 displaced people from the western coast and Taiz.

In the Gaza Strip, KSrelief pumped 500,000 litres of water as part of its ongoing humanitarian assistance and distributed 24,000 hot meals to people in need.

The centre also distributed 762 food baskets in Syria’s Latakia Governorate as part of its relief operations in the country.

The initiatives form part of Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian and relief efforts through KSrelief to provide food, water, shelter and healthcare to vulnerable and displaced communities across countries affected by conflict and humanitarian crises.
