Saudi, Greek Defence Ministers Condemn Houthi Attacks on Kingdom
The meeting came amid repeated Houthi missile and drone attacks targeting the Kingdom's civilian infrastructure, particularly King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.
Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman and his Greek counterpart Nikos Dendias strongly condemned the recent Houthi terrorist attacks on Saudi Arabia during a meeting in Riyadh on Thursday, expressing concern over their impact on regional security and stability.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the two ministers reviewed the latest regional developments and discussed ways to further strengthen defence cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Greece.
The meeting came amid repeated Houthi missile and drone attacks targeting the Kingdom’s civilian infrastructure, particularly King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.
According to Saudi authorities, a Houthi missile strike on the airport on Saturday, October 10, killed 12 people and injured more than 300 others, raising serious concerns over civilian safety and aviation security.
Saudi Arabia has repeatedly condemned the targeting of its airports and other civilian facilities, reaffirming its commitment to protecting its sovereignty, citizens, residents and critical infrastructure against continuing Houthi threats.
Saudi Arabia and Greece have strengthened their defence ties in recent years through military deployments, joint exercises and coordination on regional security challenges.
Thursday’s meeting reflected the two countries’ shared concerns over threats to regional stability and their commitment to expanding bilateral defence cooperation.
