Saudi Crown Prince Donates Blood, Launches National Campaign
SPA said the initiative also carries a national and humanitarian message highlighting the values of social solidarity and cohesion in the Kingdom.
Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman donated blood on Tuesday, marking the launch of the Kingdom’s annual National Blood Donation Campaign for 2026.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Crown Prince’s participation reflects his continued support for humanitarian initiatives, community health and efforts to strengthen a culture of volunteering and giving across Saudi society.
SPA said the initiative also carries a national and humanitarian message highlighting the values of social solidarity and cohesion in the Kingdom.
The campaign seeks to encourage people across Saudi Arabia to donate blood voluntarily and regularly, particularly to help save lives and support patients requiring emergency treatment.
Blood donations are also crucial for patients undergoing cancer treatment, people suffering from blood disorders and those facing other critical medical conditions.
The nationwide campaign aims to increase awareness about the importance of regular voluntary blood donation while promoting greater social responsibility among citizens and residents.
Another key objective is to increase voluntary donation rates and help Saudi Arabia achieve self-sufficiency in blood and blood components.
The initiative will also support the Kingdom’s healthcare system in maintaining a safe and sustainable blood supply to meet the treatment and emergency needs of patients across Saudi Arabia.
