Saudi Arabia’s KSrelief, UNDP Sign Cooperation Agreement at UNGA

The agreement is part of KSrelief’s efforts to expand strategic partnerships with international organisations and strengthen coordination in humanitarian and development work.

Saudi Arabia’s King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) have signed a joint cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening coordination, knowledge-sharing and capacity-building in areas of mutual interest.

The agreement was signed by Dr Abdullah Al Rabeeah, Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of KSrelief, and UNDP Administrator Alexander De Croo on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Under the agreement, KSrelief and UNDP will exchange information, expertise and experiences while working to build capacities in areas of shared interest.

Strengthening Humanitarian Cooperation

The two sides will also hold consultations to coordinate operations and activities and exchange invitations to major international events.

The agreement is part of KSrelief’s efforts to expand strategic partnerships with international organisations and strengthen coordination in humanitarian and development work.

The cooperation is also aimed at improving the effectiveness of humanitarian action through greater coordination and exchange of expertise between KSrelief and the UN development agency.

KSrelief: Saudi Arabia’s Global Humanitarian Aid Agency

Established in 2015, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) serves as Saudi Arabia’s principal humanitarian aid agency, implementing relief and development projects in partnership with United Nations agencies and other international and local organisations. Its programmes cover areas including food security, healthcare, shelter, water and sanitation, education and support for communities affected by conflicts and natural disasters.
