PPC Digital is proudly joining the Pinktober cause by supporting SHE RUNS FREE, a women-only 5-kilometre race organised by Islamabad Run WithUs (IRU), scheduled to take place at the Pakistan Sports Complex in Islamabad on October 18.

The race aims to provide women with a dedicated, safe and secure environment where they can run freely, without fear, worry or hesitation, while encouraging greater female participation in outdoor sports and promoting breast cancer awareness during Pinktober.

Although Islamabad witnessed a women-only virtual race in January 2026, SHE RUNS FREE will be the first dedicated, in-person women-only 5K race organised by Islamabad Run WithUs. Unlike the earlier virtual initiative, the October 18 event will bring participants together at a designated venue for an organised running experience.

The name SHE RUNS FREE reflects the central idea behind the initiative: giving women the freedom to run confidently and comfortably in an environment designed specifically for them.

Founded in 2016, Islamabad Run WithUs (IRU) has been actively engaging Islamabad residents through organised running events and community fitness activities, bringing together men, women and children of different ages and fitness levels. Over the years, the organisation has played an important role in promoting a running culture in the federal capital, encouraging people to embrace physical activity and healthier lifestyles.

Qasim Naz, founder of Islamabad Run WithUs, said the initiative was designed to encourage more women to embrace an active lifestyle while enjoying the experience in a supportive environment.

The event coincides with Pinktober, the global Breast Cancer Awareness Month observed every October to highlight the importance of early detection, timely diagnosis and access to appropriate treatment.

Breast cancer remains one of the most significant health challenges affecting women worldwide. According to the World Health Organization, early diagnosis and timely treatment can substantially improve survival outcomes. Awareness campaigns play an important role in encouraging women to recognise potential warning signs and seek medical advice without unnecessary delays.

Beyond breast cancer awareness, the race highlights the importance of physical activity for women’s overall health. Regular exercise contributes to cardiovascular fitness, mental well-being and a reduced risk of several chronic diseases, while participation in community sports can help build confidence and social connections.

A specially designed commemorative medal for SHE RUNS FREE celebrates women’s strength, determination and participation in the five-kilometre race..

For PPC Digital, supporting SHE RUNS FREE goes beyond a single sporting event. It represents a commitment to promoting healthier lifestyles, supporting women’s confidence and encouraging a society where women can participate in sports without unnecessary barriers.
