Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have signed an agreement abolishing visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and official/special passports, aimed at facilitating high-level engagement and institutional exchanges between the two countries.

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhansigned the agreement on September 21 on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 81) in New York.

Dar announced the signing in a post on X.

“This important step will further facilitate high-level engagement and institutional exchanges, and contribute to advancing our enduring and brotherly strategic partnership across all areas of mutual interest,” Dar said.

Pakistan already has visa-waiver arrangements for diplomatic and official passport holders with nearly 60 countries, including Türkiye, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, Austria and Malaysia, among others.
