Saudi Defence Minister Meets Field Marshal Asim Munir in Riyadh
They discussed the attacks targeting Makkah as well as civilian and economic facilities in Saudi Arabia and stressed the importance of continuing joint efforts to confront such attacks in accordance with the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement.
Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz met Pakistan’s Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, in Riyadh, with talks focusing on the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement and recent attacks targeting Makkah and civilian and economic infrastructure in the Kingdom.
During the meeting, the two sides welcomed the outcomes of the meeting of the Chiefs of Defence Forces and Chiefs of General Staff of the countries participating in the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement.

The meeting follows talks among the military chiefs of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye in Riyadh, where they reviewed the security situation and threats facing the Kingdom.
At that meeting, the military chiefs discussed strengthening cooperation among their armed forces, including enhanced intelligence sharing, military coordination and capability integration aimed at strengthening deterrence and collective defence.
The Makkah Joint Defence Agreement was signed by Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye on August 7, 2026, establishing a framework for enhanced defence and security cooperation among the three countries.
The Riyadh meeting was attended from the Saudi side by Minister of State, Member of the Council of Ministers and National Security Adviser Dr Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, Chief of the General Staff General Fayyadh bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, and Adviser to the Defence Minister for Intelligence Affairs Hisham bin Abdulaziz bin Saif, among other officials.
A number of Pakistani officials also attended the meeting.
