Saudi Arabia Reaffirms Strong Pakistan Ties on National Day
Saudi Chargé d’Affaires to Pakistan Naif Bin Mlafakh made the remarks on Wednesday while addressing a reception marking the 96th National Day of Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia has reaffirmed its commitment to further strengthening its longstanding partnership with Pakistan, with the Kingdom’s chargé d’affaires saying the two countries are working towards deeper strategic cooperation based on mutual trust, security and regional stability.
Saudi Chargé d’Affaires to Pakistan Naif Bin Mlafakh made the remarks on Wednesday while addressing a reception marking the 96th National Day of Saudi Arabia.
The event was attended by National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, federal ministers, parliamentarians, politicians, members of the diplomatic corps, religious scholars, academics, media representatives and guests from different walks of life.
Pakistan-Saudi Relations Moving Towards Broader Partnership
Addressing the gathering, Naif Bin Mlafakh described Pakistan and Saudi Arabia as brotherly countries with deep-rooted ties and said both sides were working together to promote security, stability and prosperity.
He said the strength of the relationship rested not only on its longstanding history but also on the ability of the two countries to adapt their partnership to emerging challenges and changing global circumstances.
According to the Saudi diplomat, Islamabad and Riyadh are moving steadily towards a broader strategic partnership built on political understanding, mutual confidence and a shared commitment to regional peace and security.
Defence Cooperation Adds Strategic Dimension
Naif Bin Mlafakh highlighted the Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement signed between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan in 2025, saying it had added a new strategic dimension to the longstanding bilateral relationship.
He said the agreement reflected the depth of mutual confidence between the two countries and their determination to expand cooperation in areas of common interest.
The Saudi chargé d’affaires also referred to what he described as the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement involving Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkiye, saying it represented an important step towards strengthening solidarity, collective security and defence cooperation among the countries and contributing to regional stability.
Saudi Arabia Marks 96th National Day
Welcoming guests to the reception, Naif Bin Mlafakh extended greetings on behalf of the Saudi Embassy to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Saudi government and the people of the Kingdom.
He said Saudi National Day was more than a historical commemoration, describing it as an occasion to remember the unification of the Kingdom under its founder, King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, and the country’s subsequent journey of development and modernisation.
Referring to this year’s National Day theme, “Our Pride in Our Nature,” he said it reflected values deeply rooted in Saudi society, including generosity, courage, loyalty, authenticity, good conduct and ambition.
Vision 2030 and Saudi Arabia’s Regional Role
The Saudi diplomat also highlighted the Kingdom’s development and modernisation under Saudi Vision 2030, saying the programme was helping diversify the economy and enhance Saudi Arabia’s international position.
He also underscored the Kingdom’s role in the Arab and Islamic worlds, particularly its efforts to support issues concerning the Muslim Ummah and contribute to regional stability.
Concluding his remarks, Naif Bin Mlafakh thanked the guests for joining the National Day celebrations and expressed hope for continued security, stability and prosperity in Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
He also expressed hope that the longstanding ties between the two countries would continue to deepen and bilateral cooperation would expand further in the years ahead.
