Saudi Arabia Leads Global Date Exports as 2025 Sales Reach SAR1.94 Billion

Saudi Arabia has retained its position as the world’s leading exporter of dates by value for the fourth consecutive year, with exports reaching SAR1.938 billion in 2025, according to data from the International Trade Centre.

The achievement highlights the growing contribution of the date and palm sector to the Kingdom’s agricultural economy as Saudi Arabia continues efforts to diversify production and expand non-oil exports under Vision 2030.

Ahmed Al-Mousa, CEO of the National Center for Palms and Dates, attributed the performance to continued support from the Saudi leadership and coordinated efforts among government entities, private companies and industry partners to improve supply chains and increase export efficiency.

Al-Mousa said the center’s initiative to facilitate Saudi date exports and improve access to international markets has played a key role in expanding the industry’s global reach.

Saudi dates are now exported to around 125 countries, reflecting growing international demand for the Kingdom’s varieties as well as their quality and safety standards.

37 Million Palm Trees, 1.9 Million Tons of Dates

Saudi Arabia has more than 37 million palm trees across its regions, while annual date production has surpassed 1.9 million tons, strengthening the Kingdom’s position among the world’s major date producers.

The National Center for Palms and Dates continues to implement programs aimed at developing the sector’s value chain, improving export capabilities and strengthening the competitiveness of Saudi dates in international retail markets.

The expansion of the sector forms part of broader Saudi Vision 2030 efforts to strengthen agricultural production, develop domestic industries and increase the global reach of Saudi products.
