More than 71 terrorists have been killed in Operation Shaban and other counter-terrorism operations across Balochistan over the past 96 hours, the military’s media wing said on Sunday.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on September 27, security forces launched Operation Shaban in Ziarat and surrounding areas on September 21 after intelligence agencies identified multiple suspected hideouts in the general area of Shaban, Quetta district.
The ISPR said that the hideouts were being used by “Fitna Al-Khawarij” and “Fitna Al-Hindustan”, terms used by Pakistani authorities for certain terrorist groups they accuse of operating with external support.

Following intense exchanges of fire, 33 terrorists had been killed so far, while weapons, ammunition and explosives were recovered, according to the statement.
The operation was intensified over the past 72 hours, during which 23 terrorists were killed, the military said, adding that security forces had cleared a large area and that clearance operations were continuing.
Operations in Nushki and Mand
In a separate intelligence-based operation in Nushki district on September 25, security forces targeted the terrorist hideout, killing 11 terrorists.
The military said another six terrorists were killed in Mand, with weapons and ammunition recovered during the operation.
According to the ISPR, the cumulative number of terrorists killed in Operation Shaban and other operations across Balochistan during the past 96 hours has exceeded 71.
The military said counter-terrorism operations would continue under “Azm-e-Istehkam,” a campaign approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, and reiterated that security forces and law enforcement agencies remained committed to eliminating terrorism from the country.
