Gulf Cup 2026: Kuwait, Oman Teams Arrive in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia will host the 27th edition, bringing together the eight Gulf sides in a tournament that remains a major sporting event in the region.
Preparations are gathering pace in Saudi Arabia for the 27th Arabian Gulf Cup (Khaleeji 27), with the Kuwait and Oman national teams among the early arrivals ahead of the regional football tournament.
The Gulf Cup, one of the region’s oldest international football competitions, was first held in Bahrain in 1970. The tournament features eight national teams: Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq and Yemen.
The previous edition, Khaleeji 26, was hosted by Kuwait from December 21, 2024, to January 4, 2025. Bahrain lifted the trophy after defeating Oman 2–1 in the final.
