RAWALPINDI: Security forces have killed 48 terrorists described by the military as Indian-sponsored during intelligence-based operations (IBOs) across Balochistan over the past 72 hours, the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said on Friday.
According to ISPR, the operations were conducted in Mastung, Quetta, Kalat and Sibi districts against what it described as Indian proxies affiliated with Fitna al-Hindustan and Fitna al-Khawarij.
The military said the operations were part of an intensified counterterrorism campaign aimed at dismantling militant networks operating in the province.
In its statement, ISPR said security forces conducted multiple intelligence-based operations during the previous 12–24 hours, resulting in the deaths of 36 terrorists. The statement said the operations targeted groups it described as Indian-sponsored elements and Fitna al-Khawarij.
ISPR further reported that on September 4, 2026, security forces detected and engaged the movement of militants during an operation in Mastung. An intense exchange of fire followed, resulting in the deaths of six terrorists, according to the military.
The operations are part of continued efforts by Pakistan’s security forces to counter militant violence and disrupt terrorist networks in Balochistan.
