Attempted Drone Attack on Makkah ‘Reprehensible and Unforgivable’: PM Shehbaz Sharif
The prime minister said Pakistan stands “unwaveringly, shoulder to shoulder” with the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the defence of its sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for the security and sanctity of the Haramain Sharifain.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has condemned in the strongest possible terms the attempted drone attack against the Holy Site of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering support for Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and the security and sanctity of the Haramain Sharifain.
In a statement posted on X, the prime minister said the people of Pakistan were “saddened and perturbed” by the incident and said there could be no words strong enough to capture the depth of anguish and sorrow felt by Pakistanis over what he described as an outrageous and reprehensible act.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif saluted the “extraordinary vigilance, courage, and professionalism” of the Royal Saudi Armed Forces for their swift and heroic action.
He once again called upon all parties to exercise maximum restraint and step back from the brink of further escalation, saying the region had already suffered far too much from conflict.
“Dialogue and diplomacy remain the only sustainable path towards peace,” he said.
