110 Million Tonnes of Uranium-Bearing Mineral Deposits Discovered in Madinah

According to Arab media reports, Prince Abdulaziz said geological exploration and drilling conducted as part of the Jabal Sayid project in Madinah had revealed estimated resources of around 110 million tonnes of raw material.

An estimated 110 million tonnes of raw mineral deposits containing uranium have been discovered in the Madinah region of Saudi Arabia.

According to a foreign news agency, Saudi state television reported on Monday that Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman formally announced the discovery while addressing the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna, Austria.

According to Arab media reports, Prince Abdulaziz said geological exploration and drilling conducted as part of the Jabal Sayid project in Madinah had revealed estimated resources of around 110 million tonnes of raw material. He said the deposits contain rare minerals as well as uranium.
