11 terrorists killed, 2.9 tonnes of explosives recovered in Balochistan: ISPR
Sanitization operations are currently underway in the area to locate and eliminate any remaining terrorists, ISPR said.
Security forces have killed 11 terrorists in separate intelligence-based operations in Balochistan’s Kharan and Washuk districts and recovered 2.9 tonnes of explosives from a terrorist hideout, the military’s media wing said on Wednesday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations were carried out on September 6 and 7 following reports of the presence of terrorists belonging to what it described as the Indian proxy “Fitna Al-Hindustan.”
Fitna Al-Hindustan is a term used by Pakistan authorities to refer to what it describes as an Indian-sponsored terrorist network operating in Balochistan.
In Kharan, security forces intercepted terrorists who were attempting to establish a roadblock and disrupt local traffic on September 6. Eight terrorists were killed during the ensuing engagement, ISPR said.
The following day, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Washuk after receiving information about the presence of terrorists in the area.
ISPR said troops raided a terrorist hideout and killed three terrorists following an intense exchange of fire.
Sanitization operations are currently underway in the area to locate and eliminate any remaining terrorists, ISPR said.
The military’s media wing added that security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue counter-terrorism operations under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” framework to counter what it described as foreign-sponsored terrorism in the country.
