Pakistan’s Army Chief and Chief of Defense Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir, has called for stronger coordination among state institutions to address the security challenges facing Balochistan. He made the remarks during a security briefing in Quetta on September 5, where officials reviewed the province’s security situation and ongoing operations.
The briefing comes amid intensified security operations against militant groups in Balochistan. Pakistan’s military has reported multiple intelligence-based operations in recent days, including raids in Mastung, Sibi, Quetta and Kalat. The military said the operations resulted in the deaths of 48 militants and the recovery of weapons.
