Asim Munir Reaffirms Armed Forces’ Resolve Against Terrorism
“The Armed Forces remain resolute in their commitment to defeating terrorism and ensuring enduring peace and stability in the country,” Field Marshal Asim Munir said.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has said Pakistan’s armed forces remain committed to defeating terrorism and ensuring lasting peace and stability across the country, as security forces continue counterterrorism operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Chief of Army Staff visited the Corps Headquarters Peshawar, where he was briefed on the prevailing security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and ongoing counterterrorism operations.
Briefing on Border Security and Operational Preparedness
The Field Marshal was also briefed on border management measures and the operational preparedness of formations deployed across the province, ISPR said.
He directed the formations to remain vigilant and maintain the highest standards of operational readiness.
“The Armed Forces remain resolute in their commitment to defeating terrorism and ensuring enduring peace and stability in the country,” Field Marshal Asim Munir said.
Counterterrorism Operations Intensify in KP
The visit comes amid heightened counterterrorism operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa following a series of terrorist attacks in the province.
On September 18, a suicide bombing near Police Lines in Kohat during Friday prayers killed more than 20 people and injured dozens. Security forces subsequently launched operations against terrorists in the region.
In operations conducted in Kohat, Hangu and Thall areas, security forces killed several terrorists, while separate actions have also been carried out against terrorist networks accused by Islamabad of operating from across the Afghan border.
Pakistan has witnessed persistent terrorist violence, particularly in its northwestern regions, prompting security forces to intensify intelligence-based operations and strengthen border security measures.
