Security forces have completed an operation at Kohat Police Lines, killing the last two suicide bombers involved in the attack, security sources said.

More than 20 people were killed and nearly 60 others injured in the attack. Meanwhile, another police official who was injured in the attack succumbed to his injuries, bringing the death toll to 22.
According to security sources, the Pakistan Army launched the operation after Fajr prayers, targeting terrorists who were hiding inside the Police Lines. The operation resulted in the killing of the remaining two suicide bombers, bringing the total number of terrorists killed to seven.
The operation was directly supervised by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Kohat, while Pakistan Army commandos, troops and the Bomb Disposal Squad cleared the area before handing it over to the police.
According to police, an explosives-laden vehicle rammed into the gate of the old Police Lines before exploding. Gunfire was also reported, while another suicide blast occurred at the Special Branch building during the attack.
The Central Police Office in Peshawar said seven armed terrorists had entered the Police Lines. Police and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) initially engaged the attackers, triggering a prolonged security operation inside the compound.
